Not much sits better than working with students all day to help them learn they didn't know before.
Coaching actually helped me get into College so I could pursue a degree in Education. Teaching had become so natural for me; I had tons of hours already working with students. My family was shocked to seeing me (for the first time) make straight A's in College. During my college years I served as Vice President for the National Honor Society, I was also teaching Chess at 10-different schools in Houston, and coaching my College team to become the BEST College Team in all of Houston! I successfully finished college in 2013 with a Degree in Urban Education from the University of Houston-Downtown as a 4-8th Generalist.
I have had such an interesting Teaching Life - I had started first as a Homeschooling Teacher, Public School Teacher, Private School Teacher, and now an Online Teacher! As a Generalist I have been able to teach so many different subjects; my favorites are: Texas History, U.S. History, World Cultures, Language Arts, Creative Writing, Life Science, Minecraft Engineering, Computer Basics, Videogame Programming, and Teen Leadership.
What does it take to become a Professional Coach? A good Chess Coach must know HOW Chess & People both work. A well-organized person will be able to manage and plan for their bright future. I've seen the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in various Chess Activities done by other Coaches. I wanted to develop my own programs to make sure that the people I care about are receiving GOOD QUALITY for what they pay for.
WOW! I am so lucky I have Pink & Purple Chess Pieces for my daughter Penelope. She helps me to relax and remember that "Chess is just a game" (It's not life). And that means we are suppose to be having FUN and LAUGHING! Nothing is more important than Family Life. I enjoy this game even more with Penelope being there listening to my funny Chess Stories. If you are lucky, you just might get a chance to play her a game.
